Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and regulations.
  • Perform pre and post trip circle checks, inspections of equipment operated, and its load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness.
  • Comply with applicable federal and provincial legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods and weights and dimensions.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed;check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
  • Report vehicle defects,accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, customers, supervisors and coworkers both verbally and in written form.
  • Perform appropriate inspections before, during and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.
  • Deliver product and accurate paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Ensure any debris caused by the loading/unloading of the truck is cleaned up, and reported to the appropriate supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Valid AZ/DZ license and Driver’s abstract in good standing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

 Maintain safety as being the number 1 priority in all daily activities.

● Performs mandatory by-law truck inspections and fills out log book each day.

● Maintain accurate records and logs. 

● Performs vehicle inspections and preventative daily maintenance before, during and after trips – this also includes greasing the truck once a week.

● Keeps the interior and exterior of the cab clean. 

● Maintain a level of professionalism on job sites.

● Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all times.

● Demonstrate critical thinking and aptitude to problem solve.

● Other Secures all loads and safely delivers materials/machines to and from site. This includes all equipment, and tarping plant material, aggregates and soils.

● Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements: 

● Minimum of a AZ or DZ license required.

● Previous driving experience considered an asset. 

● Excellent time management skills. 

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Must possess a clean abstract.

● Regular working hours are Monday-Friday from 6AM to 7PM.

● Physically fit and has the ability to lift up to 30lbs.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

● Ensure operation of delivery vehicles, in autonomous and manual modes, keeping other drivers, the public, other members of the operating team, and the vehicle safe at all times. 

● Ensure vehicles arrive at pick-up and drop-off locations on time and that the integrity of goods is retained on each journey. 

● Maintain vehicles and ensure they remain clean and presentable to the public. 

● Maintain detailed logs and provide data daily. 

● As required, collaborate with software engineers and other members of the operations team to follow collection and drop-off procedures on each journey. 

● As required, support the operation of Gatik’s autonomous vehicle software.

● Execute and track established business procedures and processes. 

● Provide feedback to operations and engineering teams on vehicle processes and performance. 

● Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adopt new operating procedures when required. 

● Act as an ambassador for Gatik, Gatik’s technology and staff, and Gatik’s clients. 

● Physically drive the vehicles before moving toward autonomous operations. 

● Use Slack to update the dispatch team on the status of each step of your shift/route. 

● Manually record data and send it via Slack.
